I'm Jenna Waites, founder of Waites Ventures, and I Design Better Businesses.
But it wasn't always that way.

Humble Beginnings

I grew up in a middle-class family in a small southern town. My father grew up extremely poor and worked hard to achieve a good career and a comfortable life for us. He instilled in me a strong work ethic. My childhood was rough and it produced in me a fierce sense of independence and a drive to never give up on my dreams.

2001

The Turning Point

In 2000, when I decided to quit a very good job to join the Peace Corps. During my 2 tours overseas, I learned to put my preconceived notions aside to listen and learn what others actually need. I also developed my creative problem solving side to assist others in achieving their dreams starting with nothing.

2008

Hard Lessons Learned

After coming home I started my own business, which lead to humbling experiences where I learned that having a skill doesn’t mean you know how to run a business. I was a former engineer with naive visions of running a profitable business while pursuing my passion.

Instead, I was working 20 hours a day, 7 days a week with no time for vacations or even date nights. I found other business owners drowning in the same swamp. This lead me to tap into the engineering, analytical side of my brain and immersed myself into business operations. I fell in love with how processes can bring owners from owning a job to owning a business. I finally found my true passion.

2010

The Beginning

Rough times in my own business led me to pick up work with a local business owner.  He was eyeball deep in a successful, but extremely time intensive and personally taxing business. Soon, he turned the operational quagmire over to me and I dove in.

Within a year, he went from having 12 people all reporting directly to him, down to just 2.  I brought his staff from mass confusion, to clearly understanding everyone’s roles and responsibilities.  We delegated much of his work to free up his time to pursued his passion, both professionally and personally. I put together the processes to improve the inconsistent client results and increase the lead conversion, which helped lead to a 70% increase in revenue.

He helped me branch out to start creating these miracles for other business owners.

That success led me to continue to pursue this passion since 2011. I’ve helped business owners, in my local community and across the US, increase their productivity.
