Does your business go through a depressingly slow time during the holidays?
I know the holiday season for many is a turbulent time.
In my daily work, I get to meet hundreds of small business owners and hear about the issues they have during this time of year.
For example, one owner I worked with struggled greatly to keep sales up during the holidays because his leads came from companies that shut down and did no advertising during holiday weeks.
In prior years he did not plan adequately for this and it always threw him into panic mode. His first reaction would be to lay off employees.
He then would scramble trying any random thing to boost sales, which would leave him frazzled and exhausted and no better off than before the efforts.
So around the 2nd week of December, he would basically shut down as well, feeling hopeless about the situation.
To end this cycle we worked on refining his habits to become more productive.
This allowed him to make the best use of time to focus on client satisfaction, referrals and planning for the next year, which helped prevent the same slump in future years.
How are you going to use this time?
I’d love to be able to share some tips that have helped my clients in times like this.
